Responsibilities

We are seeking a Microsoft Power Platform Developer to support a USDA-Forest Service contract remotely!

 

Established in 1905, the Forest Service (FS) is a federal agency that manages public lands in national forests and grasslands under a founding principle, "To provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run". The agency’s mission is to “sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the Nation’s forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations”.  The right candidate will have experience providing Operations & Maintenance support on existing applications and managing enhancement releases.  You will be part of a team that will support modernization initiatives.

 

Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Self-motivated and professional in demeanor with proven success as a development lead in an Agile environment delivering custom PowerApps and PowerPages, making updates and providing maintenance. 
  • Proven ability to interface successfully with the customer/client to drive high customer satisfaction and a positive team environment. This includes excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to navigate challenging situations with nuance and skill. 
  • Experience with defining and documenting deliverable objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning features and functionality.
  • Experience with debugging and resolving issues in both the back-end Java code and the front end Angular, JSP/JSF code.
  • Experience with completing applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Experience with Java, Javascript, WebSphere / Tomcat, HTML, and related technologies is desired.
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, Power Pages, and SharePoint is required.
  • Experience with 508 compliance concepts and methodologies

Qualifications

Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies

  • Must have strong communications skills (verbal and written), strong teaming skills and tenacious in their ability to address issues
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with job related skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with MS Power Platform
  • Experience working remotely 100% with high-speed internet and a dedicated office.
  • Ability to provide after-hours On-Call support
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Prefer existing Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
