Responsibilities

We're always looking for skilled Cloud Engineers to support our government customers' success by working on a team to design and develop AWS-based mission applications. These opportunities are in multiple locations: Herndon, VA / Chantilly, VA / Reston, VA / McLean, VA.

You can apply your expertise and work with DevOps engineers, other developers, and architects on applications of varying scale, risk, and complexity. This includes some new development but also updating and maintaining existing systems, including adding new features and extending capabilities.

 

Typical duties, tasks & responsibilities

  • Developing full-stack capabilities and updates for Linux-based applications in AWS cloud environments using Ruby and other languages.
  • Working within DevOps frameworks and guidance.
  • Ensuring recovery, supporting testing, and conducting O&M activities.
  • Implementing comprehensive DevOps strategies and application requirements.
  • Ensuring that performance, security, and other requirements are met.

Qualifications

Typical required experience, education, skills & technologies

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience using multiple languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Vue, or others)
  • Experience in developing  Architecture, designs supporting multiple Cloud Service Providers ( AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)
  • Experience in developing and building automation using Terraform/Cloud Formation
  • Experience in design, developing IaC using Terraform/Cloud Formation/Ansible supporting a multi-cloud deployment
  • Experience in working in a DevOps environment, providing application team full life cycle support and  hands-on experience in managing infrastructure/resources in cloud
  • Experience in architecting and developing underlying resources such as VPC, Load balancers, auto scaling etc.
  • Experience in security controls and implementation of security controls (Specifically on cloud resource)
  • Experience in Jenkins, GitHub etc.
  • Experience with full life-cycle application development.
  • Demonstrated experience with full stack application development in an AWS environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing in Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
  • Demonstrated experience with library development (i.e. gems and modules).
  • Demonstrated experience using distributed source control systems (i.e. Git and GitHub).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage applications and configurations.
  • Experience conducting unit testing and troubleshooting.

Required security clearance level

  • TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph

Work schedule

  • Full-time on-site at a designated facility.
