PRIMARY FUNCTION

Criterion Systems, Inc. is seeking a Storage/Automation Engineer to support a funded contract in Kansas City, Missouri. Once hired you will be a part of the Storage Administration Services Team.  This team handles the operation of all the geographically dispersed data centers.  Categories of services to be provided include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Storage Automation, Billing support, and reporting services related to SAN systems.
• Storage administration services.
• Storage performance evaluation and analysis.

• Develop and maintain reports and reporting tools utilizing SQL or other query languages.
• Automate, manage and maintain storage systems and software.
• Based on storage/system analysis, document potential improvements and/or alternatives for existing systems or workflows.
• Utilize storage monitoring tools to maintain storage operational efficiency, troubleshoot performance or system issues (including log review), engage with Vendors/Partners as escalation is required, and document root cause and solution.
• Design, plan, and implement enterprise-wide storage systems utilizing automation toolsets.
• Install, configure and support server software and related applications and systems.
• Act as liaison to organizational billing points of contact to identify customer utilization information.
• Research and recommend emerging technologies to increase cost effectiveness, system ability, and future expandability.

• Minimum 6 years of experience with job related skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience writing and modifying SQL.
• Should be able to understand, write and modify SQL statements relating to data reporting.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience using automation platforms such as:
  • Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Kinetic, BladeLogic, vRealize Automation, etc.
  • Experience with scripting for storage solutions in Unix/Linux shell, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python, including the use of REST APIs.
  • Utilize reporting tools such an SQL, PowerShell/Python and RestAPI endpoints to produce reports to support billing data feeds and task automation.
• Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving technical problems using vendor documentation or internet resources, including performing log review and using storage monitoring systems.
• Familiar with the fundamentals of data center networking.
• Familiar with security and governance requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI and securing storage systems to these standards.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
