Criterion Systems, Inc., is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support a USDA contract based in Ft Collins. Colorado.  The contract supports a variety of customers with DEVOPS, DEVSECOPS, and Architecture support.

Candidate Requirements: Establish and maintain a process for evaluating software and associated documentation. Determine the resources required for quality control. Maintain the level of quality throughout the software life cycle. Conduct formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle. Provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.

The successful candidate will support USDA Applications for Operations and Maintenance work and enhancements and Nextgen application modernization efforts. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required for engagement with customer and team members in daily meetings and in documenting requirements, user stories, testing results and status.

• Review and analyze system specifications

• Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans

• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results

• Evaluate product code according to specifications

• Create logs to document testing phases and defects

• Report bugs and errors to development teams

• Help troubleshoot issues

• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs

• Experience creating technical documentation, including design documents, requirement documents, process diagrams, test cases, training material, etc

• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements

• Perform end-to-end application testing to support software and hardware maintenance upgrades as well as new application functionality and business process changes

• Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers

• Develop and execute test cases

• Interact in a collaborative fashion with multiple Application Development teams to ensure delivery of quality software products

• Use problem solving skills to break down complex situations to discover and resolve root causes

• Ability to understand and communicate technical issues related to defects and enhancements

• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, including end-to-end application testing

• US Citizenship
• Ability to receive public trust security clearance

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
• 3+ years of experience in hands on manual testing

• 3+ years of experience in clearly documenting defect information to include analysis, steps to reproduce, and suggested fixes

• Working knowledge of Java and Agile software development methodology

• Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills

• Strong consulting and client management skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed to achieve results

• Demonstrated track record of analytical and critical thinking skills

• Organized, motivated and demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision to achieve desired objectives

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and provide solutions

• Ability to interpret a variety of technical information

• Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated 2-4 years’ recent equivalent experience, Master’s degree with 2 years recent equivalent experience, or HS Diploma with 8-10 years recent equivalent experience be used in lieu of degree.
• Two (2) + years of experience gathering requirements and documenting requirements for software applications.
