SAGE Black, a wholly owned subsidiary of Criterion Systems is looking for multiple levels of System Engineers with an active TS/SCI Clearance who will have the opportunity to work with platforms and mission applications for intelligence and defense customers. The qualified candidate will support system engineering for an enterprise system of complex software services and frameworks in the C2S environment. This roll will be supporting Structured Observation Management production, storage, and integrating the capabilities within Computer Vision processing. 


As a System Engineer you will be working closely with release train engineers and system architects to efficiently and effectively manage the CI/CD pipeline, integrate the solution, end-to-end testing, as well as system reliability and security. You will be a key member of the leadership team, doing work that matters for some of the U.S. Government’s most critical missions, and utilizing the latest technologies in Cloud Computing, AI/ML, and SecDevOps. 


The Systems Engineers work with our customers and other segments to define new features and Concepts of Operations (CONOPs) for an Computer Vision processing system. Using the Agile process, they perform backlog feature generation, work with Software Architects to define architectures that will support future roadmap capabilities using cloud technologies, define required parameters and data formats for ingest and discovery services, as well as supporting Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with customers and other programs. Presentation packages are developed to communicate concepts, CONOPs, requirements and potential architectures to the customers, other segments and development teams. They follow the features during development across areas/scrum teams to ensure that the development converges on a coherent and unified system. The Systems engineers assist the test team in the development of program level demonstrations, as well as developing ICDs, training materials for systems operators and other architectural drawings and presentation materials. The System Engineer will also provide Development and Maintenance of the toolchain that supports CI/CD, Continuous Monitoring of the Security Posture and Availability of the System, Establishing and Maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO), provide End-To-End Testing of the System to support mission needs.


Your Credentials should Include:

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Information Assurance certification (Security+) 
  • Prior experience with maintaining operational systems 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills 
  • Ability to work with and lead a team 
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Understanding of all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle 


In addition to the above experience your skills should include some subset of the following:

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Methodologies/Terminology 
  • Technical background in Software Development and/or Cloud Infrastructure 
  • Experience with Cloud Computing and Hybrid On-Prem solutions 
  • Experience delivering CI/CD Solutions in an automated SecDevOps environment
  • Domain experience in Imagery Analysis or Computer Vision
